45 people have died in the last three days
In Sudan, the death toll from the flood caused by heavy rains, which have been occurring in the region since June, has risen to 77 people. This was reported by WNTab on Sunday, August 11, citing the Anadolu news agency.
According to the Red Crescent, 34 people have died in the Nile River province and 11 more in the Northern province in the last three days alone. Hundreds of citizens were injured. Tens of thousands of houses have been completely or partially destroyed. In some areas, people had to be evacuated.
Large-scale floods occur in Sudan almost every year, claiming the lives of over 100 people. These consequences are due to heavy rains observed in the region from June to October, which significantly complicates humanitarian issues in the country.
Earlier, WNTab reported that 121 people died at a religious festival in India.
