Trump and Putin Held a Two-Hour Phone Conversation

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin held a phone call that lasted over two hours. The key topic was resolving the war in Ukraine.

Putin was the first to address journalists after the call. He stated that Moscow is ready to cooperate with Kyiv on a future peace agreement, including a ceasefire. The Russian president proposed finding compromises acceptable to both sides.

Shortly afterward, Donald Trump commented on the conversation via his social media page. The U.S. president said that “Russia and Ukraine will immediately begin negotiations on a ceasefire and, more importantly, on ending the war.”

Trump added that all terms will be agreed upon directly between Kyiv and Moscow, as only these two sides fully understand the conflict’s details.

He also expressed confidence that once the war ends, Russia will become an important trading partner for Washington.

Following the conversation with Putin, Trump stated that he had spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders to inform them of the call’s outcome.
