€838 million will be directed towards payments to citizens
The Spanish government is allocating €10.6 billion in grants and loans to help citizens and businesses affected by large-scale flooding. This information, provided by Reuters, was reported by WNTab on Tuesday, November 5.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced this initiative on Tuesday.
Specifically, €838 million will go towards direct payments to affected citizens. It’s worth noting that 217 people lost their lives in what is considered Spain’s deadliest natural disaster in modern history.
The remaining funds will be provided by the government’s credit agency in the form of loans to small and medium-sized businesses, self-employed individuals, and families for reconstruction efforts.
