The Hezbollah movement believes the incident to be an Israeli special operation
As a result of mass pager explosions among users in Lebanon, 9 people were killed and approximately 2,750 were injured. This was reported by WNTab on Tuesday, September 17, citing information from the Associated Press.
According to comments from local security service personnel, journalists report that the devices began to overheat significantly on Tuesday afternoon. Later, the pagers started exploding in the hands, pockets, or on the belts of users. Sources believe that the incident is a special operation carried out by Israel.
Israeli representatives have yet to comment on the event.
Analysts suggest that such a special operation would require a complex set of actions, including infiltrating the supply chain and planting explosives in the gadgets.
Previously, Hezbollah representatives warned their supporters against using smartphones. They believed Israel could use mobile data to guide missiles during attacks. They recommended people use pagers for communication.
Earlier, WNTab reported that Israel attacked a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.
