US Presidential Election 2024: Trump and Harris Agreed on the Debate Rules

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

The campaign team of the Democratic candidate agreed to the rule that the microphone will only be turned on for the person answering the question

The American television channel ABC has agreed on the rules for the debate between U.S. presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. This was reported by WNTab on Thursday, September 5.

According to the regulations, questions to the politicians will only be asked by the moderators. During the response, the microphone will only be turned on for the candidate addressed by the hosts. As per the rules, each politician will have 2 minutes to respond.

It is worth noting that the “muted microphone” rule became the main point of contention between the campaign teams. Representatives of the Democratic Party emphasized the need for each politician to be able to interrupt their opponent. In their view, this would allow Kamala Harris to “dispel the lies that her opponent will spread about her.”

The Republican campaign stated that Harris simply wants to avoid debates because she doesn’t know how to handle them.

The politicians’ debate is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10.

Earlier, WNTab reported that the U.S. Democratic Party officially nominated Kamala Harris as their candidate for president.

This became possible after the current White House incumbent, Joe Biden, decided to withdraw from the race.
