Latest reports confirm 11 fatalities following the tragedy
The suspect involved in the crowd crash in Vancouver has been charged with second-degree murder, according to a statement from local police, reported by WNTab on Monday, April 28.
The latest data indicates that the death toll has risen to 11 people. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 65 years old. Authorities believe the number of casualties may increase, as dozens of people sustained injuries, some of them critical.
The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Kai-Ji Adam Law, a Vancouver resident and the driver of the SUV involved in the incident. Police added that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Earlier, law enforcement officials stated that they do not consider the Vancouver tragedy an act of terrorism.
