Preliminary reports suggest the blast was caused by hazardous chemicals stored in containers

During firefighting operations at Shahid Rajaee Port in the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, it was confirmed that the death toll from the incident has risen to 28, with 1,139 people injured. This was reported by WNTab on Sunday, April 27, citing the IRNA news agency.

The identities of 10 victims have been confirmed — eight men and two women.

Preliminary information indicates that the explosion occurred in several containers storing hazardous materials.

Firefighting efforts are still ongoing, with 80% of the fire already contained. Russian Emergency Ministry units, sent by Moscow at Tehran’s request, have been deployed to assist in extinguishing the blaze.
