Cairo believes this move could precede a broader truce
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has proposed a two-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by WNTab on Monday, October 28, citing Reuters.
During this time, the Egyptian president suggests an exchange of four hostages held by Hamas for several Palestinian prisoners in Israel. Al-Sisi believes this step could contribute to a longer-lasting truce.
There were no immediate reactions from either side to the proposal, but a source close to Palestinian representatives believes that Hamas would not oppose any opportunity to end the war.
The escalation of hostilities in the region has continued since October 7, 2023, when terrorists attacked southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and capturing 250. In response, Jerusalem launched air and ground offensives in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of around 43,000 enclave residents.
Previously, WNTab reported that Israel attacked a refugee tent camp in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the IDF struck a town in southern Lebanon, killing six people, including the town’s mayor.
