As reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukrainian forces control 1,000 square kilometers of territory
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has for the first time commented on the actions of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by WNTab on Monday, August 12, citing a post from the President’s press service on the social network Facebook.
In particular, a video from the Headquarters was published, in which Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the President on the progress of the offensive operation in the Kursk region. According to him, Ukrainian troops control 1,000 square kilometers of territory.
Zelensky thanked Syrskyi for the report and asked him to convey words of gratitude to all servicemen “for their resilience and bravery.”
It should be noted that this publication is one of the first official statements from the Ukrainian authorities since the events in the Kursk region. Until now, high-ranking officials have avoided commenting on the operation on enemy territory.
Earlier, WNTab reported that Ukrainian military forces claimed control over the city of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk region.
Meanwhile, Belarus has begun amassing troops near its border with Ukraine.
